Why Cant we ?

The biggest lie told to Americans...

         WE CANT AFFORD IT.

Whenever there is talk about making anything better for the people of this country, there is always someone around that will tell us that there just isn’t any money available and to get anything done would mean massive tax hikes that will make it even harder for you to get by.

NOBODY✋👀
THEM : WE CANT AFFORD IT

So we are resigned to crumbling bridges, costly healthcare, limited vacation time, no maternity leave, poor education outcomes, people panhandling on city street corners, no good public transportation system, etc.. because we are told over and over again that there is simply no money to be found for such things.

WE CANT AFFORD IT.

And it is always because of someone else "gaming" the system.

Its because a single mom down on her luck has to use food stamps to buy milk and cheese for her kids. That’s why we can’t afford it. Or a university graduate who spent years both schooling and working didnt study the "employing course".

Its never because of this:😅😆

But suddenly there is money in those empty pockets. And the last I checked there was no outcry from the general public for jet fighters. I don’t recall any pundits coming on the screen to tell us that despite our dearest longing to build more fighter jets that it was unfortunately going to cost too much and that we just couldn’t raise taxes any higher than they are now. There was no wringing of hands on weekend news programs about how we could never afford to do such a thing.
IT JUST GETS DONE.

Its not as if we should just be spending money on anything and everything. There is a time and place for debate about how to allocate our resources in a way that works. But, that debate only ever seems to happen when people want something for themselves. But as soon as the government wants to buy more military hardware, the debate is nowhere to be found.

We need a better mindset.

I agree, the people in charge of this country could easily put in place plans to reduce poverty yet all they do is take more money from us and tell us they are doing their best to look out for us. When in reality they are only looking out for themselves or just simply wasting money.
