A FRIENDS CONVO

In lands of promise, dreams once bright,

A young man left, set out in flight,

To seek knowledge, a degree to attain,

Leaving behind his home, untouched by gain.

But on his return, a sight to appall,

No home remained, just scars on the wall,

War's cruel hand, it tore asunder,

His family's hard-earned place, now a distant thunder.

He weeps in shadows, a fugitive's plight,

For crimes not his, he hides from the light,

In a world he thought was meant to be,

His haven, his home, but war stole the key.

As night descends, his dreams turn grim,

His sister's body, torn limb from limb,

War's cruel touch, it haunts his rest,

A tale of heartache, in his chest, suppressed.

In this world of pain, he roams alone,

A war-torn heart, a soul overthrown,

Yet through the tears and endless strife,

He carries the memories, and treasures life.

Each dawn that breaks, a glimmer of hope,

Through shattered dreams, he learns to cope,

With strength he finds in resilience's grace,

He keeps his family's memory in its rightful place.

In the midst of chaos, he stands tall,

Defying despair, refusing to fall,

For in his heart, he carries the light,

A beacon of love, in the darkest of night.

Though war has taken much away,

His spirit remains, undiminished to this day,

He weeps for the past, and the innocence lost,

But in his determination, he finds the cost.

In lands of promise, dreams may be marred,

Yet within his soul, a resilience scarred,

He faces a world that tried to erase,

His dreams and his home, but love finds its place.

DEFINITION CURSE

Definitions they follow us our whole life, the better you define a word the more effective it is.  Are we defining leadership wrong? Is our definition of leadership too shallow that is affecting our lives, community, country and even generations to come?

Who is a leader?

Is it the big fancy vocabulary speech, or that fancy suit or the fat wallet?

Well, taking the current sate of the country into consideration it isn’t.

Who then is a leader?

A true leader wants what’s right more than what will win. If an injustice is being done to an adversary, he’ll protest about it. He wants a fair fight. A true leader will try and find a way to make it all work, without a fight. A true leader will walk away in defeat if he feels his cause is lost. He accepts something new. A true leader knows when his time is up, he can gracefully step aside and allow someone else a chance to make it work.

A true leader isn’t out to lead. A true leader isn’t interested in following. It may be what the true leader would have done anyway. He’s got confidence in knowing that he’s in charge of him. He knows he will only be able to blame himself if he chooses something that he’ll regret.

In this era of the 21st century, we as a society and as a nation has become habitual to criticize and blame the leaders for our every problem. But really is that wrong?

Here’s the thing- as a leader, anything that happens on your watch is your responsibility whether you like it or not. (It is just what you signed up for)

This level of responsibility just goes with the territory, and leaders who cannot accept this do not deserve to lead. Last time I checked we all make mistakes – I know I do. Most of us don’t look for perfection in leaders, we look for leaders who see mistakes as a chance for opportunity, growth, and improvement, not an opportunity to “blame shift”.

We need to find a definition that doesn’t only wear a coat but also who when it’s time to get a game of 4 on 4 in before the end of 4th-grade recess, he shouts, “First two to make it are captains!” He goes to the line with the ball and faces the rim. Bounces the ball. Before he shoots a single file, line has formed behind him. They are choosing to follow.

We need to redefine leadership.

HER BRAVE STEP

Today, I saw a young mom at church. Everyone was staring at her, like she was giving a speech. She felt uncomfortable, so she kept her eyes down, avoiding everyone's gaze. Maybe she came to church to find solace, thinking that God wouldn't judge her like her family and community do.

But sadly, things were no different here. Society often makes teenage motherhood seem like a terrible crime. But what about that guy who killed a single mother for some money? What about that leader who made big promises but didn't keep them? What about the person who committed a horrible act of sexual assault? And what about the father who abandoned his kids?

People's harsh judgments often push these young girls towards having abortions, which can have terrible consequences. Becoming a mother at a young age is a brave step, and it shouldn't be a source of shame.

Teenage pregnancy isn't the end of the world; it's the start of a new one. These girls shouldn't be looked down upon. Being a teenage mom doesn't mean they can't continue their education, pursue their dreams, or maintain their self-respect.

They had dreams too.  NO, THEY HAVE DREAMS TOO.

I can be a young mother and still have dreams. So, let's stop with the judgmental stares!

IN YOUR MIND

  I AM YOUR THOUGHTS:

"Am I even actually contributing to society? How are my contributions worth it if I only help a small part of the world while the rest is going to hell and there is so much happening?”

“Why am I here? Why was I born?”

“What is existence? What is the purpose? We all live and then die, some only living in constant anguish. Why? Where is the point in that?”

“Why me?”

“Why is my cat so F#@!ng weird?? (Again) WHY me?

I don’t want to die, I am scared of the grave, that dark place, lonely, insects and there …my life bag with holes.

“I have absolutely no idea what I am doing, what I am really meant to be doing nor why any of this is important in the first place. No one else does either. They all claim they do but they don't. It's obvious by the way they are behaving.”

Wealth and Emotions

Bill Gates is a multi-billionaire who owns Mircosoft, a well-known company around the world. Bill Gates has the ability to purchase a $10,000 wallet without batting an eye. When Bill Gate’s mom died, he felt empty and sad inside.

Ethan has to work five jobs per day to support his family. Buying expensive objects doesn’t cross his mind. When Ethan’s parents died, he was absolutely devastated and felt as if the world has crashed right in front of his eyes.

Notice anything?

Regardless of whether how rich someone may be, they still go through the same emotions.

Humans in the end are still homo-sapiens who go through the same emotions.

*Thud*

*Slap!*

“Get back to work Jeffrey!”

Lie Theory

 Why do we lie?

An overweight female stranger, friend or family walks up to you while she is wearing a tight dress that you think looks inappropriate on her.

She is wearing it comfortably and happily because after going through some depression because of her weight, she finally lost 25 pounds and she is in a good mental place.

Still, she is 256 pounds and she should probably not wear that dress because it is not ideal for her body type.

She asks you: “So how do I look in my new dress? Fabulous, right?”

You mostly might tell her that she looks amazing in her new dress and it is so awesome how she is transforming herself.

We lie for all kinds of reasons.

One is not to hurt others’ feelings.

Is your lie for a good cost??
